As a construction executive in Hawaii since 2013, Michael Barstis struggled to find extended-stay lodging options for his crews on jobs awarded on outer-islands.  Similarly, he witnessed his mainland-based contractors having the same struggles when traveling to work on Oahu.  Hotel rooms are expensive and locating a home with lease-terms aligning with your contract is nearly impossible.  To solve this problem, Mike has teamed with Hawaii Home Finders to launch our Corporate Lodging Solutions division.  We find organizations conducting business throughout the state appropriate lodging solutions to align with their business objectives.

Mr. Barstis has deep experience in finance, development and construction with several world-class firms including KPMG, JLL and LendLease.  He has delivered over 1,100 new homes and 50+ miles of electric utility projects totaling over $350M of construction spending while in Hawaii.  He is the past president of the National Utility Contractors Association’s Hawaii chapter.  Mike holds a BS in finance from Boston College and an MS in real estate development from Columbia University.  He lives in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii with his family and is deeply committed to many charitable causes including serving as the President of the Aloha Youth Lacrosse Association and as a volunteer and supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii and the First Tee of Hawaii.
